WE KNOW YOU'RE BUSY UPDATING, BUT COULD WE JUST ASK YOU...? ( THE ARCHIVE WOULD LIKE TO ACKNOWLEDGE...)

Introduction

I went hunting around the web recently and found that I am not alone in the world...at least, not when it comes to writing pages about Edmund Crispin. Here are a few links that will be of interest to Crispin readers.

Do you have a new link, or have you established your own Crispin page? Do please drop me a line, and I'll be pleased to add you to my list.

An Edmund Crispin Page

A page maintained by Rodney Yoder, presumably at Yale. He includes a good short biography, from which I intend to pilfer some additional material for my own site, and quick synopses of Crispin's books. Worth a look.

The Author's Calendar - has an entry for Edmund Crispin, with musical and literary bibliographies, and a Crispin biography.

Carry On
http://www.carry-on.com/frmsbmontgomery.html

A site noting the alter-ego contributions of Bruce Montgomery to this series of popular British films, with links to a great deal of other 'Carry On' material. As an additional element of interest, the site notes that he had a drinking problem, but does not elabourate. Mistakenly calls him a Cambridge university type, though he was at St. John's, Oxford (anathema to a good Oxford man, after all).

Carry On (Again)
http://www.adavids.demon.co.uk/carry/montgomery.html

A more specific list of some of the films for which Bruce Montgomery composed music (which now, thanks to the marvels of technology, also appears on this site), a list which included the first six 'Carry On' films. The quick biography here is also more specific regarding Montgomery's problems with drink, stating that it was due to his inability to meet deadlines that Montgomery ceased to be the composer for that film series. Not uplifting, but useful and interesting.

Literary Heritage - West Midlands Crispin site - some useful biographical information and other Crispin links.

At the moment, it appears that I and the moderator are the only two members of this group! So do drop in, join up, and have a chat about Crispin, Montgomery, and whatever else!
