Updraft tower looking northwest from near St. Joseph at around 3:35pm.
These new towers developed in the wake of the previous arc of convection
just an hour or so beforehand (left). A second tower in the series
of updrafts to the west and northwest at 3:40pm (right).
Hail covering the bare ground in northeastern Nodaway County, MO around
5:00pm. The storm that produced the hail actually occurred over an
hour prior to these images (left). Small hail piled to a couple inches
alongside highway 246 east of Hopkins, MO (center).
