Deux Raisons
- Innocents abed, knowing not what is said
- in their names; and as they sleep,
- I am watchful, I wish to remember
- them as they are in deepest slumber
- I want most to recall
- how happy I was to see them
- happy always to be with them
- how I strove to hold temper and tongue
- when thoughts of la trahison surged forth
- onto the landscape once again.
-
- Dearest of all dear children, my laughing jumeaux
- I will always love you
- more than you will ever know.
