        "Dog Owner Has His Day"

"The Pasadena Humane Society agreed to pay $65,000 to settle a complaint that it entered a man's home without a warrant or permission in order to seize his beagle, which was reportedly running unleashed through the streets. The suit, filed by Nicholas Conway, had been dismissed as frivolous by a Pasadena superior court judge, but was later reinstated by the court of appeals, which said the Society's practice of entering homes without warrants violated constitutional search and seizure protections."
